The POMO Bebe is a useful and versatile smart device that provides increased safety for baby and greater peace of mind for parents.

SAFETY | Tracks Temperature and Movement

The POMO Bebe activity tracker is a new star on the market having just arrived in September 2016 and is one of the first of its kind. This little tracker uses infrared technology to scan baby’s temperature, bottle temperature, and room temperature while baby sleeps, although that’s not the only feature. It’s also made with toxic free materials and FC manufacturing standards.

A huge safety feature that comes with POMO Bebe is the ability to receive notification alerts on your smartphone if your baby’s temperature or room temperature is too hot or too cold. This works by simply attaching the POMO to baby’s clothing using a safe magnet clip. The device uses infrared technology to read temperatures on your baby’s skin. However, make sure that if baby has a fever to use either a rectal or axillary thermometer for extra accuracy. The POMO transmits the information to your smartphone using Bluetooth technology. Just download the POMO Bebe app to sync with your Bebe activity tracker.

One safety feature that is marketed by POMO Bebe is the ability to receive notifications when baby moves further than 50 feet away. The website (and Amazon.com) market this feature as, “Need to get some shut-eye while watching your baby? Rest easy with the Distance Alert function. You will be alerted through your phone if your baby is ever away from a safe distance when the device is out of Bluetooth connection range.” It’s important to note that no device ever should substitute any kind of supervision of children, especially babies. Although this is a nice function to have, no baby (POMO Bebe is used for babies) should be more than 50 feet from any adult unsupervised.

COMFORT | Worn on Baby’s Clothes

Unlike other health monitoring devices we’ve reviewed, the POMO Bebe is worn on baby’s clothes instead of directly on the skin. The POMO Bebe is placed inside a flexible rubber case that has a magnet. The POMO is then clipped using the magnet to baby’s clothing, with the infrared thermometer facing towards baby’s skin. It isn’t a patch or a bracelet, but more of a clip that stays securely attached to your little one’s clothing. It won’t bother their skin, and the worst that could happen during the day is that baby could take it off and start playing with it (even though it’s durable, too).

One excellent feature that should ensure baby’s comfort is the ability of the POMO Bebe to track temperatures throughout the night. You can receive notifications on your phone through the POMO app if your baby’s temperature drops or rises to a certain degree. It also has the ability to track sleep, allowing parents to recognize if your little ones are getting proper rest, allowing you to adjust their environment for optimal rest throughout the day and night.

EASE OF USE | Seriously Versatile

Versatility

There really aren’t that many child or baby activity trackers on the market (yet) so POMO is one of the newer companies breaking ground in this technology arena. But if you’re looking for a Bluetooth thermometer, night movement tracker, milk thermometer, bath water thermometer, or activity tracker for your kiddo, find it all in one with the POMO Bebe. Another great product that POMO produces is a seriously useful POMO Smartwatch for older children that track their activity, location, has parent/child messaging features, and is interactive for learning.

The POMO Bebe has many features that you can find by buying multiple individual devices.

The POMO Bebe has many features that you can find by buying multiple individual devices. However, this little gadget has it all packed into one convenient and versatile little package. The smartphone app, however, only allow parents to track one POMO Bebe activity tracker at a time, so you would need a new account for each POMO that you own.

POMO Bebe Review Features

Performance

Because this is a new product, there still isn’t a lot of information about the good and the bad of POMO Bebe’s performance. We do know that this is a Bluetooth activity tracker, so the transmission to the app won’t go further than 40 to 50 feet before losing connectivity. One of the features of the POMO is that the app will alert once the monitor is greater than 50 feet from the smartphone that the app is on. If you’re the one watching your little one, however, just know that this device should not be used as a substitute for supervising any children.

It’s also useful for tracking baby’s movements through the night…

Activity and movement tracking is another fun feature of the POMO Bebe. This little device tracks daily activity and of your baby, helping you keep an eye on baby’s physical development. This activity can be stored for up to 10 days on the app. It’s also useful for tracking baby’s movements through the night by turning on the “Movement Tracking and Sleep Temperature Mode.” Each “Mode” can be switched by shaking the POMO Bebe until you see the new icon (or setting) that you want to use. The user manual for the POMO does a fairly good job of explaining how to go through different settings and get the best use out of this smart device.

POMO Bebe can also be used as a thermometer. Simply shake the POMO until you are on the temperature setting. Then put the device next to your baby’s forehead to take their temperature. This function also works with milk or other liquids but placing the POMO onto the surface of whatever you are measuring. Temperatures are measured in this device using infrared temperature technology, an accurate and easy way of measuring heat. The POMO also takes room temperature, helping you keep baby’s bedroom at a safe sleeping temperature.

The POMO Bebe is rechargeable by plugging it in with a wall unit that comes in the box. It takes about two hours for a full charging cycle and can standby for up to 30 days. To clean the POMO, just take a cloth with warm water or a little alcohol to clean the POMO and the infrared sensor. Make sure the infrared sensor has no finger prints or smudges on it before taking a temperature as this can throw off results. Another downside with the POMO is that it might have a slight learning curve due to the many different settings and features, definitely not as easy as other baby health monitors we’ve reviewed. So expect to give this device a while to get used to in order to properly use it. However, for parents that love technology will seriously love this device!
